Web Design and Usability

We are at the end of this course and I have to admit this was a challenging course for me.  The article from Steve Krug was helpful in providing needed information and clarity.  I found that some of the lessons from the previous classes came back to mind while completing this course. It was a very informative 4 weeks, but for some reason this class seemed to fly by.

I have a newfound appreciation for website designers as so much goes into the development.  When I first studied multimedia graphics for the military, we delved into web design briefly; I can honestly say that things from 2004 to web design today has changed.  I never considered it as a team effort however, I now understand why it is a team effort.  There is no-one who can actually design a website  and do all the testing alone.  Doing that is just asking for migraines.

Not only did I learn that one person cannot design a web site alone, I learned how to complete website usability testing and how important it is to a company.  I will be sure to conduct usability testing once my website is up and running for my business.

This course has surpassed my expectations and provided me with valuable information that WILL: be used in the future for my business.  I learned some of the things that need to be conducted on a website, the importance of usability testing, the proper way to conduct usability testing.  The meaning of findability and how to make my website findable for visitors so that I may possibly get some conversions and referrals in order to receive a good return on my investment.

The more knowledge I gained from this course the more I wanted.
